Recent Spending Projects

What do we spend the money on that we raise every year?

We are a small but hard working committee of about 16 people all with connections to The Howard of Effingham School.  We plan events to raise essential funds for ongoing and one-off projects. Our recent school survey in 2016 revealed the areas which were most important to you, the parents.

The number one priority was that we continued to support the costs of the school minibuses which are actively used on a weekly basis to transport students to sporting fixtures and other local social events.  There has been an immediate requirement to meet this commitment as one of the minibuses has ended the current contract and the vehicle is too old to continue in the current state.  We have committed to the school to continue funding a new school minibus for 2017 onwards with a monthly commitment from the Friends of £425.

We are grateful to the following local businesses for their generous donations-

The Burford Bridge Hotel, Conisbees Butchers (East Horsley), Costa (Cobham),The Queens Head (Clandon), Dobbe’s Nursery, Nuffield Health & Fitness, The Drift Golf Club, Donner Optometrists, NT Hatchlands Park, Squires Garden Centre, Fine Fettle, Aaronson Glass, Gifts & Gadgets, Ye Olde Windsor Castle (Bookham), Casselden’s Shoes, Marsha Hall Handmade Shoes, Loseley Park, Cedar Nursery, The Black Swan (Ockham), GLive, Groom Royale, Walking Paws, DB Designs, Maidenhead Aquatics, Pamela Rhatigan, Effingham Golf Club, Rocket Catering, The Drift Golf Club, Ranmore Wines, Silent Pool Distillers, Ken Davey Butchers, Laytons Greengrocers, RP & M Lindsey Ltd, Granary Crafts, RHS Wisley, Busy Happy People, Studio 65 Photography, Finefettle Multi-healthcare, Dorking Halls, Roxley Models, White Spider Urban Climbing

Please remember to support the above businesses directly or by recommending them to others for their continued support to our school.
